Who is this for?

Students ages 12 to 18, middle school through high school. No experience needed: lessons meet each student where they are, and the semester is open to beginners and experienced students alike.

Where are lessons held?

Private lessons are held in a private home studio in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. We send the exact address when you book. The spring semester will meet at a studio we’ll announce before it starts.

Can parents stay and watch?

Yes, and we encourage it. We ask that you hold questions until the end of the lesson so your student can stay focused.

What if we need to cancel a lesson?

Lessons are paid when you book. Cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours ahead and we’ll move the lesson or refund it. With less than 24 hours’ notice, or if the student doesn’t come, the lesson isn’t refunded. In a duo or quad, a student who misses the lesson still pays their share, because it goes ahead for the others.

What if we miss a semester class?

Life happens. Let us know ahead of time and we’ll send home notes on what was covered. We can’t offer make-up sessions, but we’ll make sure your student isn’t lost the following week.

Is there a performance?

For semester students, yes: the semester ends with a performance for families, and attendance for the final session is expected. Private lessons don’t include a performance.

What’s your refund policy?

For the semester: withdraw before the first class and we refund everything you’ve paid, deposit included. Withdraw before the third class and we refund 50%. After that we don’t give refunds, but if you have to withdraw for a medical or family reason, we’ll credit the unused balance toward a future term. Lesson refunds follow the 24-hour cancellation rule.

Do you offer financial aid?

We may be able to offer reduced tuition for the semester. Ask on the enrollment form (no financial details there, please) and we’ll follow up privately.
